Thank you for deciding to enroll in your PADI Open Water Course with Sugar Land Dive Center. Simply pick the start date you want, click the "Book Now" button and follow the prompts.
Please be sure to indicate if you want to complete the academic portion online using PADI's eLearning or be in a traditional classroom setting. Once we receive your enrollment we will contact you and get your material to you!
If you do not see a start date that suits your needs please contact us and we will do our best arrange a schedule for you.
Step One – Academics
During this portion of your training you will become familiar with basic diving principles and procedures. For example, you will learn the effects of pressure on your body, how to choose the right equipment, considerations for planning dives and more. You will either complete the academic portion of your PADI Open Water Class at Sugar Land Dive Center with one of our experienced PADI Instructors, or use PADI's Online Training to complete the academics on your own time, at your own pace.
Step Two – Confined Water (Pool) Dives
During this step, you will dive in our onsite, heated swimming pool and develop the basic scuba skills necessary to safely dive. You will learn how to set up your diving equipment, how to control your buoyancy, dive with a buddy and several other important and fun skills. The skills learned in our pool will prepare you for your open water dives in Step Three.
Step Three – Open Water Dives
Get excited to experience everything you have learned in the freedom of open water. You will complete four open water dives over two days. During these dives you will apply everything you have learned as you explore the underwater environment.
As soon as your open water training dives are approved by your instructor, you will be a certified diver. PADI Open Water Diver certification is recognized worldwide so your diving experiences will be limitless.
Sugar Land Dive Center makes learning to scuba dive easy. We offer all-inclusive pricing on all our recreational scuba courses and include all the required scuba equipment you will need. There are no hidden costs at Sugar Land Dive Center

Personal snorkeling equipment is not included. We recommended that you get your own personal gear, which includes your mask, snorkel, fins, and boots, to ensure proper fit.
If you do not wish to invest in your personal snorkeling gear at this time we do have rental packages available.
To enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver course (or Junior Open Water Diver course), you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. All participants will be required to complete the PADI Medical Statement which you may download and view HERE. Should you have a "YES" answer to any of the questions you will be required to obtain Physcian's approval and provide this to Sugar Land Dive Center prior to any in-water activites.
There are a couple of additional requirements for children 10-11 years old. In addition to the above, each participant and their legal guardian must:
