    “If only I could safely dive deep enough to see that!” Sometimes the lure of the deep feels irresistible whether for a wreck, or a special critter. Diving to explore deeper dive sites is exciting and mysterious. Diving below 18 meters/60 feet is a strong temptation on many wall dives and multi-level dives with swim throughs or unique terrain and myriad life. Diving safely and with confidence at depths down to 40 meters/130 feet can be a part of your dive profile with the Deep Diver Specialty Course. 

    Your training starts by reviewing reasons for deep diving and how important it is to know your personal limits. During four deep dives with your instructor, you’ll go over:

    • Specialized deep diving equipment.
    • Deep dive planning, buddy contact procedures and buoyancy control.
    • Managing your gas supply, dealing with gas narcosis and safety considerations.

    Also, the first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course may credit as an Adventure Dive toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification – ask your instructor at Sugar Land Dive Center about earning credit.
