    During a two-day program before the start of one of our PADI Instructor Development Courses, you will participate in the following four sessions:

    • Instructor development standards, procedures, and curriculum
    • How to organize and conduct the PADI Assistant Instructor course
    • The psychology of evaluation and counseling
    • Evaluating knowledge development, confined water, and open water teaching presentations

    You will also complete a preassessment of your instructor-level knowledge of dive theory, exemplary dive skills, and role-model presentation techniques. During this preassessment, you will:

    • Complete the five dive theory exams and the PADI Standards and Procedures Exam,
    • Complete the 24 dive skills circuit, scoring at least 96 points
    • Present a role model knowledge development presentation scoring at least a 4.0
    • Present a confined water teaching presentation scoring at least a 4.0

    You will then audit an entire IDC course, where you will have hands-on practice in teaching its components and evaluating the candidates under the direction of a Course Director.
