Course Overview

The PADI Advanced Mermaid Course is the next step for divers who have completed their PADI Mermaid certification and are ready to push their skills further. Where the PADI Mermaid course introduces you to the fundamentals, the Advanced Mermaid course is about refining your movement, building power and efficiency, and developing the kind of fluid, confident technique that turns heads underwater.

At Sugar Land Dive Center, the Advanced Mermaid course is taught by a certified PADI Mermaid Instructor in a supportive pool environment. Whether you want to take your mermaiding to a performance level, prepare for open water mermaid diving, or simply become a stronger and more graceful swimmer in your mermaid tail, this course gives you the tools to get there.

What You Will Learn

The PADI Advanced Mermaid Course builds on your existing mermaid skills with more technically demanding techniques, including:

• Advanced dolphin kick technique for more power and efficiency
• Deeper breath-hold diving skills
• Advanced buoyancy and body positioning underwater
• Fluid surface dives and streamlined descents
• Performance-level movements and underwater expression
• Controlled ascents and surface skills
• Advanced mermaid safety and buddy protocols

Course Format

The PADI Advanced Mermaid Course includes PADI Advanced Mermaid eLearning to complete at your own pace, followed by instructor-led confined water sessions at Sugar Land Dive Center's indoor heated pool. Pool sessions focus on skill development, feedback, and building confidence with each new technique before moving to more challenging work.

Course Prerequisites

To enroll in the PADI Advanced Mermaid Course, you must:

• Hold a PADI Mermaid certification or qualifying equivalent
• Be at least 12 years old
• Be in good physical health

The PADI Advanced Mermaid Course is for certified PADI Mermaids who want more. It is a great fit for anyone who enjoyed the PADI Mermaid course and wants to develop stronger technique, move more gracefully underwater, explore deeper pool work, or work toward performance-level mermaiding.

It is also a natural stepping stone for mermaids interested in open water mermaid experiences, underwater photography, or simply becoming the most skilled and confident mermaid they can be.
